International Workshop on Human-Machine Systems,  Cyborgs and Enhancing Devices                 HUMASCEND AT-EQUAL

Saturday, Oct 12th: PhD Track

IMPORTANT: CHANGE OF VENUE

Due to unforeseen circumstances, we have changed the venue for the PhD Track.

The new venue for the track is room 3.08 at Media City. Map and access options.

All participants should meet in front of the Maxwel Building at 8:00 am on Saturday at the University of Salford and we will move to the new venue from there using public transport.

The Maxwel building, which was the previous venue, is located at: The Crescent, Salford, Greater Manchester (map). Some possible routes using public transport from Radisson Blu Edwardian are:

  • Take the train from Deangate to Salford Cresent (Northern Rail service), walk to Maxwell Building

  • Take the train from Salford Central to Salford Cresent (Northern Rail service), walk to Maxwell Building

You can see these routes on Google Maps here.

The HUMASCEND Workshop on Sunday October 13th will continue as planned at the Radisson Blu Edwardian Manchester.

The HUMASCEND PhD Track offers a unique opportunity for young researchers to learn from leading experts in the field. Further, by participating on Young Researcher's presentations and discussions, presenting students are able to receive feedback on their current work and future research plans both form their peers as well as from experts. Attending students will also have an opportunity for discussion and gain insights on the future of the field.

If you require a VISA invitation letter for your trip to the UK then please contact organizers@humascend.info after you have registered for the PhD Track.

PhD Presentations

PhD Track presenters will be selected by reviewing an extended abstract in the standard IEEE Conference format. The paper should be 2 pages long, including figures and references. Because the submission is itself an extended abstract, the 'Abstract' section should not be included.

PhD Thesis presentations will follow the PechaKucha format: 10 min per talk: 20 slides, 20s each, automatically advancing for a total of 6min 40s of presentation time and 3min Q&A with panel members
